The Westerville City School District (WCSD) Board of Education on January 26, 2015, will consider the approval of new and revised high school course offerings effective for the 2015-2016 school year. Interested families and community members will have an opportunity to review and provide feedback on the proposed revisions prior to the board vote.

Per House Bill 487, each school district is required to provide an opportunity for parents to review the selection of textbooks and reading lists, instructional materials, and the academic curriculum used by schools in the district. Several new courses are being proposed while the remaining changes are revisions to previously adopted courses. These suggested changes have also been reviewed by the district’s High School Curriculum Council, which is a committee equally represented by teachers and administrators.

WCSD teachers and administrators over the past several months have reviewed current courses of study and have recommended changes to the high school courses of study for Business, Science, Art and the International Baccalaureate programs. To review the proposed course offerings and provide feedback to the high school courses of study, visit the district’s website at www.wcsoh.org and click on the “Course of Study Review and Feedback” button. Feedback will be accepted through January 23, 2014.
