Heritage Middle School students celebrated Earth Day with a special service project on Saturday, April 23, called “Spruce Up for Spring.”  The APO Service Fraternity from Capital University and Ohio University came to lead the middle school students in team building activities and cleaning up the school.  More than 60 Heritage students showed up early that day to be a part of giving back to their school and the earth.  The pupils worked tirelessly outside pulling weeds, cleaning up the flower beds, and picking up trash from the school grounds.  They also worked inside painting, hanging inspirational phrases on the walls with vinyl letters designed by the Engineering students, and sweeping floors.

What made the day extra special is APO did fun team building activities with the students.  They built marshmallow and spaghetti sculptures and found out things they all had in common, such as liking tennis or pizza.  Thanks to APO Service Fraternity and Husky students for keeping Heritage beautiful!
