Megan Walker’s art classes at Heritage Middle School have been hard at work creating beautiful bowls for the upcoming 13th annual Habitat for Humanity Soups for Shelter event.  The students began by first learning clay techniques including sculpting, firing and glazing.  Pupils donated nearly 150 bowls to the event.  For those students whose schedules prevent them from being able to volunteer in the community, creating the bowls enabled them to earn a community service credit for Renaissance.

All are welcome to attend the March 24 event, which will take place from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at St. Mary Church in Delaware, located at 82 East William Street.  The cost of this delicious dinner is $15, which includes soup, bread, drink, dessert and a Heritage Husky original bowl.  Cost for dinner by itself is $10, with discounts offered for veterans and seniors.  Children under 12 are free.
