Westerville Education Foundation funds 33 requests in Many Voices: Diverse Library project

More than 900 books will be distributed throughout Westerville City Schools as part of the Westerville Education Foundation’s Many Voices: Diverse Library Project.

The foundation was able to fund all 33 project requests in 15 schools. Collections will be delivered to teachers this month for use in their classrooms this winter. Teachers receiving starter kits include:

As part of the Many Voices Project, Westerville Partners for Education is hosting a workshop with Dr. Arianna Howard, a cultural diversity expert and master trainer who will discuss the influence of culture and upbringing on pedagogy, why tough conversations are tough, colorblind ideology and its impact in the classroom. Participants will also learn how to facilitate conversations with students in ways that develop critical minds and healthy identities. The online event is at 4 p.m. on January 21, 2021. Register here.
