Westerville Parent Council has released its findings about volunteer support given during the 2018-2019 school year.  Included is data from Parent Council and 29 of its member groups reporting.

“The collaborative efforts of PTAs, PTOs, Booster Groups and Community Groups help ensure the success of our district and its students and families,” said Liz Washburn President.  “This year’s Volunteer Support Report once again shows that Together We Can Do So Much More.”

Key findings follow.

  • For the 2018-2019 school year, volunteers in our member groups provided 56,759 hours of donated time and talent in such areas as band, theater and athletic support, literacy initiatives, student leadership development, tutoring, mentoring and countless clubs and experiences for students beyond the classroom.
  • Monetary support provided by member groups collectively totaled $625,386.53. This support comes in the form of programs, projects and activities that enhance the educational and extracurricular well-being of students. Money is raised through a multitude of fundraising initiatives, contributing to the thousands of hours of donated time.
  • Our member groups also supported graduating seniors from all three high schools with scholarships worth $52,900.00
  • The impact of volunteer support groups in our district is invaluable.  WPC encourages all families and community members to connect with a group of their choice and support Westerville students with their time, talent and financial gifts.

Westerville Parent Council (WPC) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization representing 34 member groups, which include PTAs, PTOs, Booster and Community groups, serving the Westerville City School District.  WPC provides assistance to these organizations to ensure families are engaged and connected in Westerville schools.
