Renaissance t-shirt winners encourage fellow students to join in the fun.

Despite the overcast skies, Blendon Middle School students celebrated the Fourth Quarter 2018-2019 Renaissance Awards program by enjoying an afternoon of swimming at the JC Pool on August 27.  In order to qualify, pupils had to meet stringent goals in academic achievement, community service, attendance, attitude, and school spirit.

Each quarter, qualifying students receive a certificate for their accomplishments.  Raffle prizes – donated by local businesses, the Blendon PTO, PTO parents, and former Blendon parent Carla Tedeschi – included Renaissance t-shirts and gift cards from Chipotle, City BBQ, Cold Stone Creamery, Cucinova, Dairy Queen, Donato’s Pizza, Fazoli’s, Frisch’s Big Boy, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Marcus Theatres, Scrambler’s, Soccer Plus, Texas Roadhouse, and Westerville Parks & Recreation.  The Grand Prize was a $50 Gift Card from Star Lanes Bowling.  Following the awards presentation, students spent the rest of the day “chilling” at the JC Pool, courtesy of the Blendon PTO, and enjoying Skyline Chili cheese dogs and Kona Ice.  The 2018-2019 school year completes the 9th year for the Blendon Renaissance Awards Program, which would not be possible without the continued support of businesses, parents, staff, and the Blendon PTO.
