District Secondary Art Exhibit and Reception Celebrates Student Creativity

Students, parents, friends and family members visited the Westerville Community Center on April 14 to enjoy a variety of artwork on display that was created by pupils in middle and high school. 

 

 

 

Families gathered at the Westerville Community Center on Sunday afternoon, April 28, to view high school and middle school artwork that has been on display there for the past two weeks.  A reception was held honoring parents, students and teachers for their success in supporting and promoting the arts in the lives of children throughout the community.  Westerville City Schools Board of Education President Tracy Davidson, who talked about the importance of art in education, welcomed the group.  Westerville City Schools and the Arts Council of Westerville have hosted district art shows each spring for several years.  Guitar player Katie Graves, a student at Westerville South High School, provided extraordinary entertainment.
