Three hundred and three Blendon Middle School students celebrated their academic and community service achievements by enjoying an afternoon of bowling at Gahanna Lanes on February 8.  Second quarter Renaissance awards were given to pupils who met high standards in academics, community service, attendance, attitude, and school spirit.

Each quarter, qualifying youngsters receive a certificate for their accomplishments, followed by a celebration with a variety of wonderful raffle prizes that are donated by local businesses and PTO parents.   Rewards include Renaissance t-shirts from Blendon Principal Kendall Harris, and gift cards from Cold Stone Creamery, Cucinova, Dairy Queen, Donato’s Pizza, Frisch’s, Graeter’s, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Marcus Theatre, Old Skool Skateboards, On The Border Mexican Cantina, Scrambler’s, Skate Zone 71, Skyline Chili, Soccer Plus, Westerville Recreation Center, and former Blendon parent Carla Tedeschi.  The Blendon PTO also donated free admission to the next school dance, along with pizza, drinks, chips and Kona Ice to 10 lucky Blendon students.  The Grand Prize was a $50 amazon.com gift card.

The 2018-2019 school year marked the 9th year for the Blendon Renaissance Awards Program, which would not be possible without the continued support of local and national businesses, Blendon parents, and the Blendon PTO.
