Dozens of Westerville City Schools students have been invited to participate in the 2017 Ohio Invention Convention & Entrepreneurship Competition at the Ohio State Fair on July 30.  Out of more than 7,500 students who participated in their local invention convention programs throughout the state this year, these pupils have earned, advanced and been selected among the nearly 500 students chosen to represent their school and district in Columbus this July.  Organizers said they should be proud of this accomplishment and their challenging work identifying a problem, seeking out an original solution, building a prototype, and creating a wonderful video pitch to share with the judges.

This is an invitation-only event, hosted by Invention League, a non-profit organization that has affiliate Invention Convention education programs in states across the country to further inventing and entrepreneurship education in K-12 students.

Each participant has been invited, with one adult chaperone, to enjoy a fun, free day at the Ohio State Fair, featuring ceremonies, exhibitors, evaluations and awards.

The Invention Convention is 23 years old this year but this is the very first ever State Invention Convention & Entrepreneurship Expo.
