Hamster balls, dodge ball, Gaga Pits, laser tag, Wii games, music, basketball, volleyball, baseball, soccer, Skyline Chili Cheese Dogs, Kona Ice…the list of what 285 Blendon students were able to enjoy at their 3rd Quarter Renaissance Celebration goes on and on.  Students who met stringent goals in academic achievement, community service, attendance, attitude, and school spirit were treated to a day of fun at Alum Creek Park on April 28, courtesy of the Blendon PTO.   Games2U provided the games and Kona Ice contributed cool treats.  As a special reward, Skyline Chili donated free chili cheese Coney’s for all students and staff members.

Each quarter, at an awards ceremony, qualifying students receive both a certificate for their accomplishment, and a tangible reward donated by various local businesses.  For the Third Quarter Blendon Renaissance Awards Program, each pupil got coupons from Gahanna Lanes Bowling, Texas Roadhouse, First Watch, and Little Caesar’s.

Blendon continued to celebrate with a variety of donated raffle prizes including Renaissance T-shirts from Blendon Principal Kendall Harris, gift cards from bd Mongolian Grill, City BBQ, Cold Stone Creamery, Dairy Queen, Donato’s Pizza, Fazoli’s Italian Restaurant, Graeter’s Ice Cream, Little Caesar’s, Old Skool Skateboards, Westerville Recreation Center, and even former Blendon parent, Carla Tedeschi – just to name a few.  The Grand Prize was a Kindle Fire Tablet.  Following the awards presentation, students spent the rest of the day at the park, having a great time.

Blendon’s Renaissance Awards Program, now in its 7th year, would not be possible without the continued support of local and national business partners, parents, and the Blendon PTO.
