Thirty semi-finalists from all three grades at Blendon Middle School participated recently in the National Geographic Geography Bee. Sixth grade student Austin Lee took first place overall. Earning second place was seventh grader Jessica Adongo. There was a four-way tie for third place with Alex Harris (grade 6), Stephen Vilardo (grade 7), Leo Fagge (grade 8) and Matthew Bame (grade 8). As the building winner, Lee took an online test and is awaiting results in an attempt to qualify for the National Geographic State Geography Bee that will be held on March 31 in Columbus.
