On April 27, 40 highly talented visual artists and their art teachers from each of the four Westerville City middle schools participated in the 6th Annual Career Exploration in the Visual Arts field trip.  Students visited the Columbus Museum of Art and Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD), thanks to funding from the Career Technology Education and Gifted Education Departments.

The pupils toured campus with students and interacted with Admissions Department staff.  Many topics were discussed including the admissions process, scholarships, course options, majors/minors, campus life, interns/co-ops and job opportunities for students.  After lunch in the Admissions Building at CCAD, the group went to the Columbus Museum of Art were they were able to observe, describe, interpret, and evaluate a variety of artworks at the newly expanded museum.  Students used writing prompts and journaling to carry the learning experiences back to their classrooms upon returning to school.
