Blendon Middle School members of National Junior Honor Society organized a “Hats for Heroes” event to raise money for Honor Flight Columbus, in honor of Veteran’s Day. Students and staff were invited to wear a creative hat to school on Veteran’s Day for a $1.00 donation. $426.00 was raised for the organization, which recognizes and celebrates World War II and Korean War veterans by flying them to Washington, D.C. at no cost to visit memorials dedicated to their important service.
