Several WCSD schools revamped their Veterans Day programs this year to align with health and social distancing guidelines, creating school-wide virtual events to honor those who served in the military.

Schools including Cherrington, McVay, Wilder elementaries and Westerville North High School created videos featuring students, staff and local veterans for the school community to watch on Nov. 11.

Westerville South High School's student council typically sponsors a dinner where students and staff can connect and learn from local veterans from VFW Post 7883 and the American Legion. This year, students and staff wrote hundreds of thank you notes to veterans. The cards were delivered to VFW Post 7883, who then distributed them to area veterans.
