After reading Help is On the Way, about National Youth Volunteer Day on April 17, students in Susan Young’s second grade class at Wilder Elementary decided they wanted to make their school more beautiful. They brainstormed ideas and eventually agreed to plant pansies in the front garden; make motivational posters for placement in the bathrooms; and create flowers for a bulletin board in the school library. Their efforts to brighten their surroundings were appreciated by the staff and fellow pupils.
