Cameron Varney, a Westerville North student who attended Wilder Elementary School as a child, chose last May to complete his Eagle Scout project by creating a butterfly garden for the youngsters at Wilder.  Varney and his father and friends visited Wilder over Labor Day weekend to complete the project.  The garden is beautiful and the school plans to have its fifth graders help maintain it, so butterflies and children can enjoy it for many years to come.

“Cameron and his project exemplify the good things that happen when schools, parents, and community come together,” said Wilder Principal Victoria Hazlett.  “An offer of sincere gratitude to Cameron, his scout troop, and his family for passing on the value of being a responsible citizen and giving back to the Westerville community.”
