Motorists traveling down Walnut Street in Westerville on Friday evening, October 11, might have done a double take when passing Whittier Elementary School, where ponies, a potbellied pig, a cow, a llama, a sheep, some goats, rabbits, ducks and geese were hanging out on the lawn.  Rain was threatening, but fortunately, it held off for the school’s annual Fall Festival.  This year, under the direction of new principal A.J. Hoffman, the event featured not only food, a cakewalk, silent auction and indoor games, but also outdoor activities including a petting zoo, prizes hidden in a haystack, and a maze.  Families who packed the grounds appeared to enjoy the ambitious activity.  Hoffman expressed his appreciation to those who worked so hard to make it happen.
