Third grade students from eight elementary schools, along with Westerville North’s Notables, presented the Westerville City School District’s fourth annual world cultures concert titled Nations Together in Song.  The combined performances took place on Tuesday, November 13 and Wednesday, November 14 at the Vineyard Church Columbus, which was big enough to accommodate the massive concerts.

In preparation for the show, all the schools learned the same collection of musical numbers and choreography, including a Zambian folk song, a calypso song, an upbeat Middle Eastern folk song, a playful American folk song, and an arrangement of We Are the World.

Pupils were directed by Tricia Hall (Annehurst), Julie Porretta (Cherrington), Mary Rebekah Fortman (Emerson and Hanby), Sarah McPeak and Joshua Ice (Hawthorne), Cynthia Kinser (Huber Ridge), Evan McIntyre (Pointview and Whittier), and Elizabeth Brosius (Westerville North).

The goal was to create a shared musical experience for the students and create a sense of unity among schools and the community.
