Each year the Westerville City Schools Transportation Department bestows “Ferdie Awards,” which honor bus drivers for going above and beyond the call of duty, providing gold standard levels of service, completing routes in a timely on a timely manner, performing unconditional acts of kindness and displaying genuine care and concern for children.  Last month, six drivers were recognized for perfect attendance during the FY14-15 school year.   “As the first and last person students see on a daily basis, it’s very comforting for both pupils and their parents to have a friendly bus driver consistently greet them and bid them farewell each day at the bus stop,” said Becky Nitz, Assistant Manager of Transportation.

Please consider nominating your favorite bus driver for a Ferdie Award.  Application forms can be found at www.wcsoh.org.  Click on “Our District,” then the Transportation link, and, finally, “awards and recognitions.”
