Dozens of young archers at Robert Frost Elementary School arrived bright and early on Monday morning, March 11, to take part in a charity shoot that will benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  They shot from 10 meters on March 11, and concluded the tournament by shooting from 15 meters on March 18.  The event is a St. Jude e-Championship virtual tournament where their scores will be compared to all other school teams participating nationally in March.  Participation is free for club members, but donations are encouraged.  Those who wish to contribute in honor of the Robert Frost team may do so at https://nasptournaments.org/Donate/default.aspx?tid=3633.  Physical education teacher Eric Indiciani is organizing the tournament at Robert Frost.

Since opening 50 years ago, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has changed the way the world treats childhood cancer and other life threatening diseases.  No family ever pays St. Jude for the care their child receives and, for every child treated here, thousands more have been saved worldwide through St. Jude discoveries.  The hospital has played a pivotal role in pushing U.S. pediatric cancer survival rates from 20 to 80 percent overall, and is the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted to children.  It is also a leader in the research and treatment of blood disorders and infectious diseases in children.
