Families turned out in droves to review the good work being done by Elementary Leadership students.

The first Leadership Summit Community Service Fair occurred on the evening of Thursday, April 20, at Wilder Elementary School.  Leadership students spent the evening sharing the results of their service projects with school officials, parents, community members and peers.  All elementary building teams created display boards that showcased photos and artifacts from the projects.  Students were also prepared to answer questions pertaining to the projects.

Service projects ranged from donations to animal shelters and family centers to collecting money for established charities and community clean up.  The projects were derived from student ideas that were vetted by each building team at the Leadership Summit day in December.

The purpose of the service projects is to help students develop leadership skills and to promote the value of giving back to their school and/or the larger community. “We are very impressed with the dedication and commitment of our students,” stated Tami Santa, Student Assistance Program Coordinator. “Westerville is a better place based on their leadership and hard work.”
