Second grade students at Robert Frost Elementary School have been studying weather in Science class. On Thursday, February 18, they were treated to a special visit from ABC6/FOX28 journalist Marschall McPeek, a longtime Columbus meteorologist who first joined the First Warning weather team and Good Day Columbus in September 2013. The children were captivated by his knowledge and were thrilled to appear on television and have their questions answered.
McPeek grew up in Bucyrus and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio University’s Honors College with a degree in journalism. He received his meteorology training from Mississippi State University and has earned the American Meteorological Society’s prestigious designation as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. When he’s not staring at the radar or being mesmerized by passing clouds, McPeek enjoys exploring the back roads of Central Ohio and meeting the interesting people who make this “one of the most fascinating places in the country.”
