Michelle Kuisel’s second grade class gets pumped up to participate in the annual Walk-a-Thon.
Robert Frost Elementary School Principal Sarah Berka challenged her students to raise a whopping $11,000 during the annual Walk-a-Thon, which was held at Jim McCann Stadium on Friday, September 26. They met that lofty goal by turning in $11,202. The PTA will use the money for activities including Family Fun Nights, Field Day, field trips, library books and scholarships. Individual incentive winners included Ricky Gozur, who won Blue Jacket tickets; Noah Timbrook, who won OSU basketball tickets; Kim Iatonna’s class, who won a popcorn party for completing the most laps (129); Zach Rogers, who won a Kindle Fire; and Michelle Kuisel’s class, who won a Primo Popcorn Dance Party for having raised the most money overall ($1,509). As an all-school reward, Principal Berka and fourth grade teacher Lisa Guseman will don Sumo outfits and partake in a match. The date of that event has yet to be determined.
