Hello Emerson, Hanby, and Hawthorne Families!
What a FANTASTIC start to the new school year! Across the building (and the district) the students seem to have settled in to their new routines and are eager to learn. I have had the opportunity to introduce myself to each and every one of your students. They sincerely are a delightful, bright bunch. As they now know who I am and what I do in the building… I felt I needed to take this opportunity to make sure you know who I am too.
My name is Kevin Kissling and I am a school counselor for the Westerville City School District. I will be in three buildings (Emerson, Hanby, and Hawthorne) this year. My overriding goal is to help each student achieve academic excellence. I work largely in three domains to achieve this goal; personal/social, academic, and career development. I interact with students on a daily basis in the classroom, in small group learning environments, and on an individual basis. I will also refer students and families to community resources to help ensure the rest of their basic needs are addressed.
