Talented Pointview pupils perform in “Disney – the Movies, the Magic.”
Students at Pointview Elementary School presented an evening of charming musical performances on Thursday, March 15, in the gymnasium. At 6:30 p.m., kindergarten and first grade children sang whimsical songs about things that are “gross,” titled Squirm. The show was be an upbeat exploration of creatures that make people squirm, including worms, frogs, spiders, snakes, and ladybugs. In preparation for the show, the youngsters learned fun facts about each animal and worked with art teacher Liz Bash to create masks as part of their costume.
At 7:15 p.m., second grade students presented a showcase of some of Disney’s biggest musical numbers called Disney: The Movies, the Magic. This program featured musical numbers from Peter Pan, The Aristocats, The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, and Wreck-It Ralph, as well as a mash-up of songs from the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
