Each year, the Otterbein University Softball Team seeks new ways to help the Westerville community.  Through a previous graduate, the team this year got connected with Pointview Elementary School second graders, and the partnership that has blossomed has left lasting memories for all.  The players love the opportunity to make an impact on children while, at the same time, getting to re-live what it’s like to be a kid again.  The groups met on the playground three times this week and enjoyed several old fashioned games that never go out of style like Duck, Duck, Goose, Tag, and Mother May I?  It was difficult to tell who was having more fun, softball team members or the Pointview youngsters.  Pointview Principal Sherry Birchem reported, “The kids and aides had a blast!”

“Our team will continue to help out at Pointview after the holidays, and we hope they can be a lifelong partner with the Otterbein Softball Team,” said Assistant Softball coach Laura Rose.
