Decisions, decisions.  First grade students in Koleen Foley’s class at Mark Twain Elementary School ponder their choice of books.

Thanks to a generous partnership between Kiwanis of Westerville and Westerville Partners for Education, elementary students in the Westerville City School District will once again get to pick out a free book to take home and keep.  Book Bonanza! is back and it started this school year on Wednesday, October 12 at Mark Twain Elementary.  Kiwanians Larry Gwin, Cameron Thraen and John O’Connor were on hand to coordinate as nearly 600 students filed through to pick their books, which had been sorted into reading levels.  This event marked the 13th school-wide Book Bonanza! with more than 12,000 books given to Westerville students since the program began in December 2013.  The group re-purposes thousands of gently used books and labels them to get kids excited about reading and promote literacy.  To volunteer or donate, please visit https://westervillepartnersforeducation.org/ .
