On Monday, May 2, the Pointview Elementary School staff hosted their first Career Day, in partnership with Heritage Christian Church.  The morning featured breakout sessions and career rotations where students could explore their interests.   Volunteers who spoke with the children represented a vast array of professions.  Presenters included bankers, artists, mechanical designers, travel planners, doctors and nurses, hair stylists, project managers, electricians, social workers, marketers, firefighters and chemists.  After the children ate lunch they took personalized career surveys and had reflection time.  The day concluded with keynote speaker Richard Cowdrey, illustrator of the Marley and Me books, among other things.  His interactive presentation encouraged the youngsters to discover the gift each has been given, and to work hard to develop their gift into a lifelong love and passion.
