First grade teacher Tonya Mariscal stirs up student interest in the Yoga & Mindfulness Leadership Team.
On Friday, February 5, the staff at Pointview Elementary School kicked off a Leadership Teams project as part of their adoption of the Seven Habits for Highly Effective Kids initiative. Teachers presented their Leadership Team choices to the excited students in pep rally format. Pupils then selected the teams they would like to join. Leadership Team Time will take place for one hour approximately once a week, beginning the first week of March. Choices included a Cheer/Dance Team, Green & Clean Team, Cooking Team, Arts & Crafts, Morning Announcements, Yoga & Mindfulness, Advertising/Event Planning, and Technology.
