On February 1, author Jenny McCray and illustrator Jessica Donehue visited the second grade classrooms of McVay Elementary teachers Arin Florence and Mary Alice Backiewicz to discuss their collaborative writing process.  These sisters wrote and illustrated both Hatventures of Hope, and Braving the Storm.  They are currently working on their third book.  McVay students were eager to ask questions and reflect on their own writing and drawing.  “Being able to meet and share with a real author and illustrator has definitely motivated these children to do great things,” said Florence.
