McVay Lock Out Information 9.22.16

3:54 p.m.
Westerville Police have notified McVay Elementary that this afternoon's lock out has been lifted and students can be dismissed. We will begin dismissing students immediately, Law enforcement officials have informed us that they will continue to maintain a presence throughout this process. Westerville City School District elementary students whose transportation arrangements include the use of shuttles may arrive home slightly later than usual today due to this delayed release. Thank you for your understanding. 

3:17 p.m.
McVay Elementary will be delaying student dismissal due to on going police activity in the area. We do not have an estimated time for student dismissal, but we will keep families informed of these details as they become known. Thank you.

2:57 p.m.
At approximately 2:47 p.m. today, Westerville police notified school officials that McVay Elementary was put under a lock out due to police activity in the area. Law enforcement officers are at the school to supervise. At this time we do not know if dismissal will be impacted. We will let our families know if there are any changes to dismissal procedures at McVay as soon as possible. Thank you.
