“The World Would Be a Better Place if…” was the theme of the 2014-15 PTA Reflections competition this year.  At an awards ceremony and reception held at the Westerville Public Library on Thursday evening, January 8, the Westerville Parent Council (WPC) recognized students for their efforts in the areas of literature, music, dance, photography, film/video and visual arts.  Parent Council President Lisa Aucoin and Reflections Chair Lisa Wood co-hosted the event.

This year 131 entries were received from 14 participating schools, and 75 district level winners were recognized.  Fifty-eight winning entries have been forwarded to the state contest.  Those who earn honors at the state level will be lauded at a Westerville City Schools Board of Education meeting this spring.

It was just announced that next year’s theme will be, “Let Your Imagination Fly.”

WPC is a group of Westerville School District parent organizations (PTAs, PTOs and Booster groups) organized under the authority of the Ohio PTA.  It provides support and assistance to local parent organizations within the Westerville School District and is a valuable source of guidance and information.
