Candace Mazur Darman leads McVay students in an adaptation of “The Magic Finger.”

On Wednesday evening, October 29, McVay Elementary School hosted its second annual Spooky Read Night.  In addition to teachers reading out loud in their classrooms, children and parents enjoyed a Woods Art Walk and performance.  The woods behind the school were lined with student artwork hanging from the trees and lit up by little LED lights.  In the open field at a break in the woods, first and second grade pupils put on a show called “The Wild Side,” based off of Rohl Dahl’s The Magic Finger.

The event was possible thanks to the Artist in Residency program from VSA Ohio.
