All contributions made to the WEF before January 1, 2018, will be matched up to $10,000 by generous community partners including  Aqua-Tots Swim Schools – Westerville, i9 Sports, GroupEleven Consulting, Henry Painting, Gandee and Associates/ Gandee Heydinger Group, LLC, TRIAD Architects/ TRIAD Facility Solutions, and The Little Gym of Polaris.

The WEF awards grants for innovative programs that will have immediate and lasting benefits to students in Westerville classrooms.  Some examples of programs made possible by WEF funding include:

  • DIVERSITY: Student Connections:  In 2015, the WEF awarded the largest grant to date of $9,800 for this important and long-lasting initiative aimed to connect students to diverse literature, mentors and tutors, as well as create opportunities to engage and address issues surrounding students’ social and emotional needs.  Programs in this initiative include the Minority Scholars Program (MSP), Mentors Opening Doors, Enriching Lives (M.O.D.E.L), and the Spirit Book Club.
  • ARTS: First Grade CD Production at Alcott Elementary:  In January of 2017, Jim Ledford was awarded a $1,000 WEF grant and in this first year, students were involved in the process of choosing songs, designing a cover, creating a name, advertising and selling the product.
  • SCIENCE: Hydroponics Lab at Westerville North High School:  In 2007, Jeff Bracken received a grant from the WEF to grow plants indoors under hydroponic conditions.  Over the past decade, this program has continued and even expanded.

Join us in raising $10,000 by January 1.  For this limited time, every dollar you contribute will be matched.  Your $50 contribution will turn into $100 for innovative classroom projects for our Westerville students.
