Westerville’s Metzger Park will be a little more beautiful than usual this year, thanks to the efforts of little people with big hearts.  Parent volunteers at Annehurst Elementary School worked with the Westerville Parks & Recreation Department to get permission to plant flowers at the front entrance, which were generously donated by local businesses.  Thanks to their efforts, when Abby DeChant’s all-day kindergarten students walked to the park for their end-of-the-school-year picnic, each pupil got to plant flowers.  Also planted in their young minds was the idea that community service can be both fun and rewarding.
