On a sizzling Friday, September 13, Mark Twain Elementary School held its annual Walk-A-Thon at Walnut Springs Middle School.  Students ran and walked around the track to raise money for the PTA to fund field trips, playground equipment and activities.  The ambitious goal was to raise $12,000, which the youngsters surpassed by bringing in $12,198.  The top five fundraising pupils (Alexis Hamm, Noah Williamson, Jaxon Caraway, Alexis Wachowiak, and Evangeline Woods) won a Limo Lunch with Principal Vicki Moss, Guidance Counselor Serena Casale, and Secretary Susan Kaul.  The group rode in a stretch Hummer Limousine, stopped at Chipotle, and then enjoyed a picnic at Hoover Dam, with a little extra recess time on the playground.  Moss thanked all of the children for their overwhelming enthusiasm in making the fundraiser a great success, and the PTA volunteers for organizing the successful event.
