Third grade teacher and good sport Jenn Bichsel was suited up by Columbus Blue Jackets personnel to defend the goal as excited students cheer her on.
It is no secret to anybody living in or around Columbus, Ohio that the Columbus Blue Jackets (CBJ) are making their mark in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Enthusiasm for the team has infiltrated Westerville City Schools, as evidenced by the screams coming from the gymnasium at Mark Twain Elementary School on Wednesday afternoon, April 10. By submitting a photograph demonstrating their CBJ spirit, Jenn Bichsel’s third grade class won a pep rally. Hockey great R.J. Umberger showed up with Stinger the mascot and CBJ personnel to pump up the already excited youngsters by distributing prizes and letting the children shoot goals on their good-natured teacher.
