For the third year, students in the Mark Twain Elementary School Service Club, led by Melissa Rex, brought their families to lend a helping hand at the Marine Corps Family Support Community (MCFSC) packing night held on March 10. They wrote thank-you notes to men and women who are currently deployed, and worked hard packing boxes that will be received by soldiers serving our country.
“MCFSC relies on our community for their generosity in supplying funds, goods and service hours,” said appreciative volunteer Cathy L. Noskowiak. “We look forward to spending time with these students. They even opened our meeting by leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance.”
MCFSC provides support for Marines, military family support, veterans and the wounded. They are located in Columbus, Ohio, and have sent more than 10,000 care packages since 2007.
