Westerville City Schools Superintendent John Kellogg received a letter from AEP Ohio and Columbia Gas of Ohio commending a number of teachers for participating in the e3smart energy efficiency education program during the 2016-2017 school year, through the Ohio Energy Project. Funded by both utilities, the program complies with Ohio’s Learning Standards for science and math and provides a free Home Energy Efficiency Kit to each participating student. Participating teachers were Jacqueline Kallay, Danielle Koch, Anthony Forrest, Julie McSwords, Phil Carney, Patrick Schubert, Kyle Campbell, Katie Skuldt, Debbie Pellington, Cait Maloy, Amber Northern, Aislynn Valentine and Tori Cook.
Approximately 300 educators attended a full day of training and received more than $500 in science equipment and supplies for use in their classrooms at no cost to the school district. In addition, each participating student received a free Home Energy Efficiency Kit to help reduce electricity and natural gas usage in their home. “We compliment you for your hard work, dedication and enthusiasm for energy efficiency education,” the letter concluded.
