Continental Mathematics League Contest Results Announced

The 33rd Continental Mathematics League Contest, facilitated through the Gifted Education Department in conjunction with math teachers, is an annual tradition across the Westerville City Schools middle schools.  Sixth grade students in advanced math classes have the opportunity to participate in this national math competition where problem solving, mathematical, and reading skills are celebrated and even improved.  Westerville City Schools pupils competed in the Pythagorean Contest Division with five meets in which students had 30 minutes to complete six multi-step problems.  Top scoring students were:

  • Blendon Middle School – Jessica Adongo, Dominic Iquina, and Ethan Stofel (three-way tie for highest score), Olivia Goff, and Justin Fagge.
  • Genoa Middle School – Aden Nowell (highest score), Abigail Henck, Laiken Hendricks, Tara Will, Zach Barna, and Megan Schimmel.
  • Heritage Middle School – Ben Predragovich (highest score), Will Pyle and Caden Carfagna. 
  • Walnut Springs Middle School – Nick Bagby (highest score), Xiaowen Li, Mary Stein, Nhi Ton, Alison Gruber, and Joey Endres.
