According to State Law and district policy, up-to-date immunizations are required for all school aged children.  It is the goal of the Westerville City School District to help families meet these requirements by partnering with Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) and its Mobile Care Center.

On Wednesday, August 26, 2015, the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Mobile Care Center will be in Westerville from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., parked in the lot at the Early Learning Center at 936 Eastwind Drive.  A doctor and a nurse from NCH will be on board to offer a full range of immunizations including DPT and MMR vaccines required for children entering Kindergarten, along with the latest Tdap immunization required for current and incoming Middle School students.  This is your opportunity to schedule an appointment time to get your child’s updated immunizations that may be required for the 2015-2016 school year.  Families are also welcome to schedule well-checks; the doctor and nurse on the unit will address current illness concerns as time allows.  Families are always encouraged to contact their Primary Care Provider for medical services.  The Care Mobile is available to serve all who do not have a medical home.

All students within the Westerville School District are invited to schedule an appointment time to receive services from the NCH Care Unit on August 26.  Please contact Kathy Hayman at Cherrington Elementary School beginning August 1 to schedule your child’s appointment.  She can be reached at haymank@wcsoh.org or by calling 614/797-7056

Families are encouraged to bring health insurance information and vaccine records if possible. No one is ever turned away due to financial hardship.
