There are approximately 30 spots remaining for the afternoon session (12:30-2:30 p.m.) of Westerville Safety City, an annual event designed to educate students who will be entering Kindergarten in the fall.  The program will be held Monday through Friday, June 2-13, at Robert Frost Elementary School, which is located at 270 North Spring Road.

Educational topics include fire safety, bicycle safety, stranger awareness, water safety, and other personal safety issues.  Teachers and their teen helpers will educate 360 students during this two week program.  The Westerville Fire Division’s educators and Westerville DARE officers will also be present to help educate and facilitate throughout the weeks.

New this year, registration is online only at the Safety City website, www.westervillesafetycity.com.  Fees for 2014 Safety City are $70 for persons living with the Westerville School District or city limits, and $80 for non-residents. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover will be accepted for payment, but not checks.

To complete the registration process, applicants will need a credit card, parent contact information, emergency contacts, the child’s medical history and preferred physician, the child’s shirt size, and a list of persons authorized to pick-up the child during Safety City.  For additional information, please visit www.westervillesafetycity.com
