Parents of children who will be attending kindergarten this fall are eligible to register their youngsters online for Safety City beginning on April 21.  The program will be held Monday through Friday, June 2-13, at Robert Frost Elementary School, which is located at 270 North Spring Road.  Two sessions will take place each day – one from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m., and one from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m.

Educational topics will include fire safety, bicycle safety, stranger awareness, water safety, and other personal safety issues.  Teachers and their teen helpers will instruct 360 students during this two-week program.  Westerville Fire Division educators and Westerville DARE officers will also be present to teach and facilitate.

New this year, registration will be online only at the Safety City website, www.westervillesafetycity.com .  Fees for 2014 Safety City will be $70 for persons living within the Westerville School District or city limits.  Non-resident fees for the program are $80.  Visa, Master Card, and Discover will be accepted, but not checks.

To complete the registration process, you will need a credit card, parent contact information, emergency contacts, the child’s medical history and preferred physician, the child’s shirt size, and a list of those who are authorized to pick-up your child during Safety City.

Information was included in the Kindergarten registration packets distributed by all Westerville City Schools and St. Paul.  Flyers are also available at the Westerville Public Library, the Westerville Community Center, Westerville Fire Station 111, and the Westerville Division of Police.  For further information, please visit www.westervillesafetycity.com .
