Studnets present their findings about Spring Run to other students.

Students in Dawn Ramsey’s fourth grade classroom at Huber Ridge Elementary School spent the month of September participating in Project Based Learning: Recognizing Ridgewood - How can we keep the natural environment safe?

The children completed field work at Ridgewood Park, were presented lessons by Otterbein student teacher Megan Glassmire, researched their choice of topic (wild flowers, trees/plants, erosion, or Spring Run Creek), and presented their findings.

For the final project, pupils became docents in Ridgewood Park and shared their information to six classes from Huber Ridge, families, district personnel, and other visitors.  Collectively, the class also created a guidebook to Ridgewood Park with each youngster submitting a page about his/her topic.
