The Ohio Department of Education has approved two days in the Westerville City School District for professional development – September 12, 2014 and February 6, 2015. Classes will not be held on these dates. At its Regular Session on July 28, the Westerville City Schools Board of Education amended the district’s Academic Calendar for the 2014-15 school year to accommodate this schedule.
“These full days of professional development are a valuable way for our teachers to grow as instructors and a cost-effective way to learn from each other, identify best practices, and implement initiatives across our district,” said Jennifer Knapp, Director of Curriculum and Instruction. “Our efforts have resulted in positive academic gains for our students and some of our highest-ever report card ratings from the state.”
