Westerville City Schools Board of Education Seeks New Member

The Westerville City Schools Board of Education is seeking a community member to replace Cindy Crowe, who submitted her resignation effective May 19.  The appointed person will remain on the Board through the completion of Mrs. Crowe’s term, December 31, 2015. 

School district residents interested in applying for the vacancy must complete and return their application materials no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2014.  Applications can be found on the district’s website, www.wcsoh.org., or picked up at the Early Learning Center, which is located at 936 Eastwind Drive.  Completed applications should be sent via email to nestorb@westerville.k12.oh.us or mailed/hand delivered to:

The application time line will generally take place as follows:

  • Application process begins on May 9, 2014
  • Application deadline is 4:00 p.m. on May 21, 2014
  • Selection of finalists, Special Board Meeting, May 29, 2014 (the Board will move immediately into Executive Session; applicants will not be part of the session)
  • Interviews of finalists, June 4 and June 5, 2014
  • Swearing in of new member, June 9, 2014

Applicants must be U.S. citizens at least 18 years of age, residents of the school district, and registered voters.

“This vacancy on our Board is likely to generate a significant amount of interest and we’re hoping to have a strong pool of candidates from which to choose,” said Board of Education President Nancy Nestor-Baker. “Those who meet the requirements to hold this office and are dedicated to serving our community in this capacity are welcome and encouraged to apply.”
