Students got into the spirit of unity by wearing orange and raising money for Puerto Ricans in need.
Hawthorne Elementary School did a twist on Red Ribbon week this year by focusing on making positive choices, being kind to others and showing unity. During the week, the students came together to raise money for those affected by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico earlier this month. Working together, the entire school earned a hat day by filling a jug full of money to donate.
On Wednesday, October 25, Hawthorne participated in UNITY DAY: Together against bullying. United for kindness, acceptance and inclusion. Learn more at http://www.pacer.org/bullying/nbpm/unity-day.asp.
