It is Energy Fair season for 5th graders in Westerville.  Every elementary school will participate in a day of science discovery and learning about light, sound, sources of energy, heat, electricity, and more.  More than 350 students from all the high schools and middle schools in Westerville have been trained to be part of an Energy Leadership Team.  These teams facilitate 20 hands-on activities for 5th grade students across the district so they can deepen their understanding about the science and conservation of energy.  The City of Westerville Electric Division has sponsored these events through the Westerville Energy Education Partnership since 2000.

The Ohio Energy Project (OEP) will recognize Westerville City Schools and other districts on May 16 at the Youth Energy Celebration, which will be held at COSI in downtown Columbus.  OEP honors teachers and students participating in energy programs throughout the school year.
