Students and staff at Hawthorne Elementary School paid one dollar for each day they chose to participate in during five special Dollar Days, which were held December 7-11. Slipper Day, Hat Day, Jersey Day, Pajama Day, and Gum Day were not only fun, but the $2,214 in proceeds raised went to Caring & Sharing. $800 was spent on gifts and clothing for four children; $315 for gift cards; and a cash donation of $1,099 was also given to the charity.
