Westerville’s Business instructors participated in a Logistics Industry Immersion Series on June 17 and 18.  The immersion experience, hosted by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce and Columbus Region Logistics Council (CRLC), provided instructors an in-depth look at the business logistics industry in Central Ohio.  Business Logistics is one of three career pathways Westerville students can engage in during their high school career.

The experience included presentations by Jeff Zimmerman, Director of CRLC; Steve Reade, DSW’s Director of Distribution; and Bryan Schreiber, Manager of Business Development at Rickenbacker.  Instructors had an opportunity to learn more about the skills and knowledge required for a career in business logistics and toured both DSW’s distribution center and the Rickenbacker Inland Port.

Westerville educators Susan Bailey, Cindy Calvin, Richard Heeren, Linda Mapes, Laurie Marburger, and Natalie Schaublin are excited to bring what they learned to the classroom and connect the content in the district’s business courses to real-world applications.
